Area-51

Intro

Area 51, located at the corner of a Nevada nuclear test site, has long been rumored to be the home of some of the United States most highly classified national security projects. Hundreds of people have seen and photographed odd objects such as flying triangles, saucer shaped craft, and flying objects that maneuver in ways conventional aircraft could not possibly move.
It has also been rumored that the technologies developed here are not of earthly origins but rather reversed engineered from studies of crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft. The location was chosen in 1954 by a Lockheed test pilot, Tony LeVier, who was given the task of finding a suitable location for the testing of a new Lockheed contract – the U2 spy plane. After scouring the desert for a remote spot, he decided that the Groom Lake area was ideal.
It was located near existing facilities, the mountainous location offered a unique hidden view, and it contained a large, dry lake bed that would be perfect for aircraft landings. Since you can be shot if you try to trespass on the military base where Area 51 is located, UFO tourists must view the sacred ground from a distant vantage point. Many do this, hoping for a glimpse of a UFO landing. Apparently, the government has a treaty with the aliens that allows them to fly into this area at will, as long as we can experiment on them and try to duplicate their aircraft.
You don’t really think that any human could have come up with the idea of the Stealth Bomber, do you?
Skeptics don’t doubt that something secret is going on in Area 51. And what is going on may be more sinister than building secret aircraft or developing new weapons. “Sixty Minutes” did a segment where Leslie Stahl suggested that Area 51 might be an illegal dumping ground for toxic substances. If so, Area 51 might turn out to be hazardous to your health in more ways than one. Several former workers at Area 51 and widows of former workers have filed lawsuits against the government for injuries or death resulting from illegal hazardous waste practices. In 1997, the existence of Area 51 was declassified, but the area is still off-limits both to civilians and normal military air traffic. Surprisingly, Area 51 is not surround by fences, guard houses, or other high-security devices – or so it seems.

Myths- paranormal and federal involvement

Area 51, the most secret military base, is making new secrets each day. They have had nuclear weapons testing but want to eliminate nuclear weapons testing. When they do their nuclear weapons testing, they would take a nuclear device and test it to see what it does. They do their weapons testing at night, so Russian satellites don’t know what they are doing. Nuclear weapons deteriorate if they just sit around for a certain amount of time when they are not tested or used.
All of their nuclear weapons have different names. Each weapon’s name is a code to what size it is. There was a five and a half megaton device buried 5500 feet below the desert ground. That device is equivalent to five and a half million tons of TNT. It was the biggest device exploded in the United States. Nuclear weapons’ testing is very risky and hazardous. There was a weapons’ storage added to Area 51 in the 1980’s.
Area 51 is located in Lincoln County, Nevada and it is shaped by some mountain ranges. Groom Lake is a place inside the middle of the mountain ranges and the air base lies on the southwest corner of the lake. The air base has two concrete runways and one of them extends onto the lake bed. There are also two unprepared runways on the lake. Area 51 shares a border with the Yucca Flats region. The nuclear weapons storage facility is located in the Yucca Mountains; it is 40 miles southwest of Groom Lake.
Area 51 is connected to an internal road network. Paved roads lead to a town called Mercury northwest and west to the Yucca Flats. Groom Lake Road runs through the Jumbled Hills and it used to be a track leading to the mines in Groom Basin. There is a winding road that takes it past a security checkpoint then Gloom Lake Road lowers eastward to the floor of Tikaboo Valley. Then it passes dirt-road entrances to small ranches. After that it joins up with State Highway 375, now renamed Extraterrestrial Highway.
Area 51 is protected by radar stations, helicopters, armed guards, and buried movement sensors. The base doesn’t even appear on public United States government maps. The civil aviation chart for Nevada just shows a large restricted area. The tourists that get into the base get a $600 fine. Tourists could also receive visits from FBI agents after.

Conspiracies involving area 51

Area 51 is situated in the southwestern portion of Lincoln County in southern Nevada in the western United States. A large military airfield is situated at its center. This center is known as the most secretive places in the world. Although, the base's primary purpose as explained by the authorities is to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems, there are thousands of people who do not believe this story.
The intense secrecy surrounding the base, the very existence of which the US Government barely acknowledges, together with reports of unusual phenomena has led it to become the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and UFO folklore. There are many stories circulating around on Area 51 - most of them are about UFOs and aliens. I have tried to compile some of the unconventional activities claimed to be underway at Area 51. I have also included some supposed proofs in favor of these claims. Let me know if I have left some other ideas out of this hub.
11 FAMOUS AREA 51 FOLKLORE
1. Alien spacecraft storage: Storage, examination, and reverse engineering of crashed alien spacecraft
2. Study of aliens: Examination of dead aliens that came in UFOs and interrogation of living aliens
3. Manufacture of aircraft based on alien technology
4. Meetings or joint undertakings with extraterrestrials
5. Energy weapons: Development of exotic energy weapons said to be many times deadlier
6. Weather control: Established means of weather control or experiments undergoing over it
7. Time travel: Establishedmeans of time travel ordevelopment of time travel technology
8. Aurora aircraft: Development of unusual and exotic propulsion systems related to the Aurora Aircraft Program (a cutting age spy plane)
9. Politics and secret society: Activities related to a supposed shadowy one world government and/or the Majestic Twelve organization (A secret committee of scientists, military leaders, and government officials, supposedly formed in 1947 by an executive order of U.S. President Harry S. Truman to investigate UFO activity)
10. Simulation of moon's environment: In 2000-2001, Fox Television broadcast a show about Apollo moon landing hoax accusations, in which it was suggested that the entire moon landing in 1969 was a hoax and was filmed in parts of Area 51
11. Misdirection attempt: During the mid 1990s, the most secret work previously done in Area 51 was quietly moved to other facilities and the continued secrecy around is largely a successful attempt at misdirection

"PROOFS" SUPPORTING THESE CLAIMS
1.       In 1989, Bob Lazar claimed that he had worked at a facility at Papoose Lake (which he called S-4) on such a U.S. Government flying saucer

 lima, a cigar shapet aircrft
2. The 1996 documentary Dreamland directed by Bruce Burgess included an interview with a 71 year old mechanical engineer who claimed to be a former employee at Area 51 during the 1950s, working on a "flying disc simulator" built to train US Pilots, based on a disc originating from a crashed extraterrestrial craft. During his career at Area 51 he claimed to have worked with an extraterrestrial being whose name was "J-Rod", described as a telepathic translator
3. Dan Burisch (real name, Dan Crain) claims to have worked on cloning alien viruses at Area 51, also with the alien "J-Rod"
4. In July 1996, a man named "Victor" announced on Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM radio show that he had a videotape of an alien interrogation which had taken place in Area 51. He claimed that he had made a copy of the tape during a scheduled transfer of analogue videotape files on the base into digital form, and had then smuggled the copy out of Area 51. The video appears to show the head of an alien creature in a dark interrogation room, allegedly using telepathy to communicate with military personnel and scientists. The footage was eventually included in a video documentary entitled Area 51: The Alien Interview

UFO Cases

The first supposed UFO sighting was in 25th June 1947 (before Sputnik) in Boise, Idaho (400 miles from Area 51 Nevada) . Below is a report of what happened
.

"Mr Kenneth Arnold was flying over Mount Rainier in this plane. During his flight, Mr. Arnold witnessed a bring flash of light. During the next thirty seconds, he frantically searched the sky for the light's source - afraid that he was about to collide with another airplane. Shortly after the first blast of light, he saw a second. When he looked in it's direction, Arnold spotted nine objects, with the lead at a higher elevation than the rest, streaking south over Mount Baker towards Mount Rainier. Watching their progress, Arnold calculated their approximate speed to be at 1,700 miles per hour. Even when he arbitrarily shaved 500 miles per hour off that estimate, he was dealing with an impossible speed figure! The nine objects that he saw, darting in and out of the smaller peaks of the surrounding mountains, periodically flipped on their sides in unison. As they did so, the sunlight reflected off their lateral surfaces - thus explaining the flashes that had first caught his attention to the crafts. Following the unidentified objects across the sky for two and a half minutes, they disappeared, heading south over Mount Adams. This sightings of unidentified flying saucers in the sky marked the beginning to the age of correlation between UFO's in general and flying saucers."

Many UFOs have been allegedly seen over the skies of Area 51.

Some people don't believe that UFOs are extra-terrestrial due to the fact that its too far for aliens to come which would involve too much fuel and time. Even if the aliens went over the speed of light it would still take many millions or even billions of years to travel to earth. And do you really think if they came all this way they would make crop-circles?

The BIG question is are UFO's extra-terrestrial? Are they new governmental spy-planes? Or are they just made up sad alien fanatics with boring lives?

Just recently the British Ministry of Defence has announced that they set up a secret "Flying Saucer Working Part" in the 1950's in the UK after there were many sightings in Sweden and USA. However the scientists believe that the earth is unlikely to be facing an alien invasion from space.

Rosswell Case
It all started on June 25th, 1947 when a pilot named Kenneth Arnold reported seeing several objects while flying near Mt Rainier, Washington. His descriptions of the objects that flew like "geese" and moving "like a saucer would if you skipped it across the water" became the term "Flying Saucers", and thus the age of the UFO was born.
